The Banking Tracker provides a systematic overview of digital asset activity at major European banks across five verticals: custody, trading, stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and tokenization. Each entry reflects services and initiatives that are active as of the most recent update. Discontinued or completed projects are excluded from the overview and documented separately in the activity timeline of the respective bank profile.
Activities are classified into three states:
Public classifications draw on bank disclosures, filings with regulatory authorities, partner press releases, and verified reporting from established industry publications. Each data point is corroborated against at least two independent sources prior to publication.
Entries marked with a bird icon indicate information obtained through Blockstories' own research — including interviews with bank representatives, partners, and regulators — that is not available through public channels. The icon applies the same color logic as public entries (green for live, orange for pilot). Such entries are included only where source credibility has been verified and the activity confirmed as current.
Where a bank pursues several distinct initiatives within the same vertical, each is tracked as a separate entry. The matrix displays the entry closest to production as the primary dot, with a small grey badge (e.g. +1) indicating the number of additional entries. Hovering the cell reveals every entry with its respective stage. The priority order used to pick the primary dot is: Live > Live · Intel > Pilot > Pilot · Intel.
The tracker is reviewed on a weekly cadence. Banks and institutions listed are invited to submit corrections or additions via mail@blockstories.io. All submissions are evaluated against the same sourcing and verification standards.
